In the Land of Blocks hosted on AnythingGeek.net. This column is where I will talk about my adventures in
Minecraft where you can follow my progress.
To begin I'm using Minecraft 1.1.0 and I have a couple of great mods installed to add to the fun. Firstly I have
Treecapitator which makes cutting trees a breeze. Next I have
Rei's Minimap, this mod adds a small map to your screen and makes getting to your base so much easier and makes exploring more enjoyable. Then I have a couple of
Pam's mods. She has created a number of successful mods and implements a lot of community support like extra textures and such. I personally have HarvestCraft, ClothCraft, EarthCraft, DesertCraft and WoodCraft but there are many others that she has and gives support to, so check them out now. Lastly I also added
Mo' Creatures and
Millionaire. If there are any other mods or even textures you want to see then please comment or send us an email.
Now on to what I have accomplished shall we. This article covers what I had time to do in one day mind you so I think I did well. As you can see above there is a view of my world, there is quite a large forest but there is even tundra to the south-west. I went about collecting resources and getting the bare minimum of each just so I could construct my house before dark. Nearby there was a flock of sheep so later I might revisit that area and corral them into a so I can have a rainbow wool farm.
As you can see it is not much but it has all that I need for now. It has a cobblestone foundation, walls of planks and then a steeped roof made out of stairs and slabs. A construction guide can be found

Recently Jeb from Mojang released the following statement which seems to point to an upcoming update of Minecraft. Obviously this message is quite vague so we don't know for certain what this may mean. Right now I would recommend sifting through the 7 month old content and comments on /r/minecraft on Reddit.
You all may notice the change in scenery, this is because I was pseudo-evicted. By this I mean there was a large influx of mobs such that they have taken over. I imagine there is now a creeper living in my old abode, doing what creepers do best. I have also needed to take away my Millionaire mod since it was starting to reject the others until I was unable to even log on.
Above you can see that I'm starting both a wheat farm and a pig farm. I firstly made the wheat farm to start off with farming while I collected more resources. The pig farm came from my need for a large amount of food to keep me from starving while mining deep down. While I have no screens so far I also have a couple of small underground bases where I keep supplies like pork chops and ores so I don't lose everything on the off chance I die.
Here you can see some other labours of mine, working out my small chunk into the landscape and carving my path to destiny. I have made a small tree orchard where I will grow some trees that will be used for raw materials. With my time spent gathering resources I gathered some clay and replaced the walls of my home with brick to make it look better.
