Pikmin 2 and Mario Power Tennis Joining Nintendo Selects

Some news from Nintendo today shows off some of the company's plans for the Wii console. The big N has announced that on June 10th North American customers will be able to purchase the previously available Pikmin 2 and Mario Power Tennis Wii games at the price of $19.99. All this is is a re-packaging in a new box with "Nintendo Selects" branding, but if you have not played these games yet it would be a good time to add them to your collection.

In other Nintendo news the company has also announced that they will be slashing the prices of best sellers, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Donkey Kong Country Returns. These games will be available for a modest price of $29.99. Again if you have not picked up these games in particular then it would be wise to take advantage of this price change. Don't complain about there not being any good Wii games!

Some other games already in the Nintendo Selects line up include Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Strikers Charged, Punch-Out!! and Super Paper Mario along with other quality first-party games. Jake on the site has previously got some of these Nintendo Selects games through a Wal-Mart Canada sale. This sale will last until the 30th of May and you can pick up these games for only $14.83 each! Hopefully all these games will last us until the launch of the Wii U.

The Indie Royale Spring Bundle

Spring is here, and with it comes the latest Indie Royale game bundle. For less than $5.00 you can get six great indie games: Unstoppable Gorg, Depths of Peril, Tobe's Vertical Adventure, Inferno+, Slydris and Ballistic. Check out some more info on all these games below and watch a video for each to see if it is worth the change in your pocket:

Unstoppable Gorg
Futuremark Games Studio
Defend the solar system from aliens in this tower defense game by sending satellites into orbit.  Move your defenses into position by rotating the orbits to your needs.
Unstoppable Gorg is a lovingly crafted homage to vintage sci-fi films from the 1950s. Flying saucers, rubbery aliens, dodgy effects, it's got it all. The game's story scenes were shot on film using models, miniatures and live action actors and then edited together with genuine archive footage to create a classic sci-fi experience that is out of this world.

Depths of Peril
Soldak Entertainment
In this singleplayer action RPG kill monsters, completes quests, all the usual elements. Play as a faction leader protecting the barbarian city Jorvik and go to war!
In this world actions actually have consequences, so take care. Annoying the powerful and aggressive Legion of Fear faction will cause them to declare war and destroy you. Ignored Orc uprisings in the Black Forest will cause even more trouble. Protect ally covenants that are being raided, because friends are hard to come by.

Tobe's Vertical Adventure
Secret Base
Enjoy some retro platforming playing as Tobe along with his crush Nana. Search for treasure in singleplayer or co-op multiplayer modes.
With 2 unique characters and a total of 4 islands and 16 levels to explore, Tobe's Vertical Adventure shall bring you back to the 16-bit era.

Inferno+
Radiangames
Inferno+ is a twin-stick action-RPG. Lead your ship through over 40 levels and perform upgrades, collect gold, and destroy everything in sight.

Slydris
Radiangames
Slydris is a unique puzzle game that feels fresh but also reminds you of the good old days of Tetris. Slide and drop blocks in 3 different game modes and compare your high scores to players around the world.

Ballistic
Radiangames
A third game in this bundle by Radiangames (for those keeping track), Ballistic is an arcade shooter with infinite waves on enemies. Complete multiple challenges, earn achievements, and compete in online leaderboards.

It's a great week for deals on Indie games, be sure to also check out the latest Humble Botanicula Bundle. This Indie Royale is currently $4.75, be sure to buy it before time runs out! Check back in two weeks for the next Indie Royale.

Gaming Deals of the Day: Civilization V & Blocks that Matter

For the final day of the 2K Games Steam sale, as many were expecting, on sale today is Civilization V. You can choose to get either the base game, the Game of the Year edition with all the DLC, or to buy the DLC separately at very low prices. In case you missed it, yesterday's deal was BioShock 1 & 2 but luckily if you missed out, all of 2K's games are still on sale for up to 50% off!

Civilization V
Civilization 5 is a turn-based strategy game. Based on an entirely new game engine with hexagonal tiles instead of the square tiles of earlier games in the series, lead a civilization from prehistoric times into the future while battling and trading, and more.
The Flagship Turn-Based Strategy Game Returns Become Ruler of the World by establishing and leading a civilization from the dawn of man into the space age: Wage war, conduct diplomacy, discover new technologies, go head-to-head with some of history’s greatest leaders and build the most powerful empire the world has ever known.
Civilization V is regularly priced at $29.99, but you can get it today for $7.49!
The Game of the Year edition is on sale for $12.49.

Blocks that Matter
Also on sale today as a Steam daily deal is Blocks that Matter. In this puzzle platformer the player takes the role of “tetrabot”, a robot which is able to collect blocks by jumping into them or drilling them, and can then construct shapes to solve puzzles and proceed on in the level. You may have previously seen this game as a part of the Humble Voxatron Bundle.
When indie game developers Alexey and Markus are in trouble, their only hope comes from their creation. You are the Tetrobot: a tiny robot that can drill blocks of matter one by one, collect them, and recycle them into new pieces of 4 blocks. You also have the possibility to destroy lines of 8+ blocks in a very «retro russian» game style.

Blocks that Matter is normally generously priced at $4.99, but on sale today for just $1.69.

I hope you enjoyed the coverage of this week's 2K Games sale, we will let you know of any other great deals we come across in the future. If you are buying Civilization V you may want to check out our first look of the next expansion, "Gods & Kings", and if you like Indie Games like Blocks that Matter follow our Twitter for updates on the next Humble Bundles and Indie Royale Bundles!

BioShock 2 is regularly $19.99, but you can get it today for just $4.99 as well.

Get the first two games in this series for under $10, and be ready for BioShock Infinite on October 16th. I have to say, I have never played this series before, and if you haven't either this is the best way to start. Stay tuned to this site and our Twitter for news on the final day's sale tomorrow.

Gaming Deals of the Day: Mafia I/II

For the second day of the 2K Games sale on Steam, you have a chance to pick up two great games for less than $10 - Mafia I and Mafia II. You can also pick up all the DLC for very cheap as well. In case you missed it, yesterday's deal was Borderlands but luckily if you missed out all of 2K's games are still on sale for up to 50% off!

Mafia I
Mafia is a third-person shooter, where you control a mafioso in order to rise the ranks. This game features a great story that differentiates it from most other open world type games:
It is 1930. Due to circumstances he couldn't possibly have predicted, Tommy's life as a cabdriver is about to be exchanged for a life in the Mafia. At first he continues his work as a driver and nothing could be better.
Mafia I is regularly at a great price of just $9.99, but buy it today for only $2.49!

Mafia II
Begin the story of a new member of the mafia to continue your adventures in the life of crime. With improved graphics and gameplay, experience another amazing story in the series.
Vito Scaletta has started to make a name for himself on the streets of Empire Bay as someone who can be trusted to get a job done. Together with his buddy Joe, he is working to prove himself to the Mafia, quickly escalating up the family ladder with crimes of larger reward, status and consequence…
Mafia II is regularly $29.99, but you can get it today for $7.49!

Enjoy these two games for under $10, including one of which was the first game to make me cry -- while beating up and extorting innocent people for money. Stay tuned to this site and our Twitter for news on the next 2 days' sales.

The Indie Royale Alpha Collection #1

The next Indie Royale Bundle has been released, and this time it will be to support the developers of three games that are still in development: Towns, 3079, and Wyv and Keep.

Towns
SMP
Towns, a city building and management game mixed with an RPG that draws inspiration from titles spanning Dungeon Keeper, Dwarf Fortress and Majesty. Instead of playing the hero who delves deep into the dungeon, players oversee the town that houses and caters the hero's needs.

Along the way, players can craft unique weapons, obtain randomized loot and build a settlement capable of holding back the forces that rise up from the active dungeon upon which the town sits.
The game is said to be 40.2% complete and the developer has stated you will receive every new release up to when the game comes out you can purchase it. New releases are planned every 1-2 months.

3079
Phr00t
3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game, and an alleged lovechild of Minecraft and Fallout, with a block-like world, futuristic action, and role-playing elements played in a first-person perspective. 3079's randomly generated areas, buildings, items, quests and characters make it an entertaining open-world experience.

You are sent to a world that is under constant war, and it is your job to find out the cause of this war and hopefully bring peace. You can work with either the Humoids or Neanders to help achieve this goal. Be warned, there is more to fear than just the warring factions on this planet...
3079 is about 65% complete, with updates planned every 2 months.

Wyv and Keep
A Jolly Corpse
Wyv and Keep: the Temple of the Lost Idol is a lusciously pixelated 2D co-op puzzle platformer. Dubbed as a more fiendish version of Blizzard's classic The Lost Vikings, the game features two young treasure hunters venturing into the land of Amazonia.

Take control of the duo and use teamwork to solve mind-bending puzzles, navigate challenging action sequences, and find hidden riches deep within an ancient temple.
Wyv and Keep is 75% complete with updates planned every month! This game includes local and online multiplayer modes as well as a puzzle creator.

These alpha games are currently priced at $5.34 and will be available for Windows, Mac, and Linux by the time they release. The offer expires in less than 5 days, so buy it now!

Experience the Humble Bundle Mojam

Starting earlier today at 10:00 Central European Time the team at Mojang - the creators of Minecraft have started making a brand new game live, which they will have 60 hours to complete. Better yet, the whole event will be streamed live!

Along with Mojang two other indie developers will join to make their own games. Oxeye Game Studios - maker of such games as Harvest: Massive Encounter, and Wolfire Games - the creators of Lugaru: The Rabbit's Foot and more.
Based on a poll of more than 100,000 users, Mojang and Wolfire will be tackling a real-time strategy shoot 'em up, with a steampunk, ancient Egypt theme! Oxeye Game Studios is crafting a dungeon crawler beat 'em up set in a post-apocalyptic World War II!
The event is brought to your by the makers of the Humble Indie Bundles - and if you make a donation on their website you you will gain access to all of these developer's games including preview builds as you track their progress. All proceeds will go to the Child's Play charity, the EFF, charity: water, and the American Red Cross.

Visit the Humble Bundle website to view streams from each of the developers, and to enter the chat room. And if you haven't heard, if this event raises $1 million or more Notch will shave his beard! Watch online and contribute now!

The Valentine's Bundle from Indie Royale

The new Valentine's Bundle from Indie Royale is here. You have over 3 days left to decide whether or not you want to spend just about $4.32 for 5 great games. While it may not be as accessible as the pay-what-you-want bundles that the Humble Bundles are known for, the minimum price is currently still dropping! Here's a look at the games you will get for your money:

Zeno Clash
ACE Team
Zeno Class is a first-person fighting game that uses Valve's Source engine. You play as Ghat, and travel the world of Zenozoik with your companion Deadra visiting several locations in a linear fashion. The game is strongly focused on unarmed combat but also allows you to use multiple melee and ranged weapons. Unlike many fighting games Zeno Clash features a story with multiple cutscenes. If you are alright with a game that focuses primarily on fighting with not much else, this is for you.

Hoard
Big Sandwich Games Inc.
Hoard is an action-strategy game combining elements of a dual-stick shooter with that of a real-time strategy game. You control a fire-breathing dragon that you must control to burn down all of the surrounding kingdoms. Collect gold from the burned wreckage and steal princesses, and bring them back to your hoard. There are several other ways to collect gold as well. You can also level up your dragon's attributes while burning down the 20+ maps available to have a massive change on the way you'll play.

Lume
StateofPlay
Lume is a beautifully made game featuring graphics made out of cardboard that were filmed for use in the game.  It is a point-and-click puzzle game with an overall "green" theme to it. The power has gone out at your grandparents house. You play as Lumi and must solve challenging puzzles using eco-technology to restore power. Lume is the first part of a larger adventure that is in production now. Personally, this is the game that make this bundle more worth it than any of the other games.

Soulcaster I/II
MagicalTimeBean
Soulcaster is said to be a mix between an adventure, strategy, and puzzle game making it quite unique. You play as a wizard that summons spirits to to fight for him. Travel through dungeons and strategically use the correct souls to pass the area. With retro graphics and easy to use controls it may remind your of games you played many years ago, but it is still unique. Soulcaster II adds on to what people love of the first while adding an improved graphics engine, new puzzle elements, and and a skill upgrade system.

I had previously not bought the Indie Royale bundles. They seemed to be overpriced, especially with some of the very high quality games in the Humble Bundles to compare it to. This time however - it is a safe bet to go with both. The games in this Indie Royale bundle are spectacular, and if you haven't bought it already you can still get the newest Humble Android Bundle as well. These bundles are sure to bring tons of enjoyment for any type of gamer!

The Humble Android Bundle is Here!

Pay what you want for three awesome games on Windows, Mac, Linux, and now Android with the latest Humble Indie bundle that is even more multi-platform than ever.
