Hey there everyone, Atzunew here with some new information on the upcoming game Assassin's Creed 3. It is known that Assassin's Creed Revelations was the end of Ezio's story arc in the series, so this left
Ubisoft with creating the 3rd installment in the trilogy. Recently, a poster was sent to
Kotaku that hints at a lot of what is to come in the series.
We will now dissect this poster to learn as much as we can. First and foremost we see an american flag behind our assassin. Cross referencing this with the designs of previous flags we came to the conclusion that the game will at least be set near the late 1700's when this flag was adopted. We can tell this by the 13 stars corresponding with the 13 colonies.
Secondly we look at what the character is wearing. We see the traditional garb worn by the assassins in this series. The addition of chaps on his legs seem to indicate a native american influence with the symbolism and coloration. Thirdly we look at this character's gear. They seem to be armed with a flintlock pistol, tomahawk or a the very least an axe of some sort. Lastly, they have a pole-like weapon and a quiver of arrows strapped on their back. This furthers the native american influence on this character.
Some have speculated that this character is a native from one of the eastern nations or tribes but at this time even the European settlers some times looked like this due to trade and relations with the natives. What is unknown is whom the antagonists will be. This time period set by the flag suggests that it will take place in the late 1700's, about the time of the American Revolution.
George Washington and the founding fathers are known for their masonic roots so the Templars could easily be behind this event in the series' story line. Also the British with their long time European establishment could have Templars amung their numbers. Right now it is hard to tell who our character will be fighting against but it seems that Game Informer had a banner with our character standing beside George Washington, this has been pulled but not before

Lastly I would like to point out the Ubisoft have said to watch out for new releases of information. Their Facebook page stated this.

As we can see our assassin taking on some British soldiers in the middle of the woods at night time. This game is definitely taking advantage of the american landscape and frontier, making it really stand apart from its predecessors. My earlier prediction of a pole-like weapon was incorrect as we can see that it clearly is a bow.
