In our continuing coverage on the latest in the Pokémon franchise, we now have even more news in the way of Pokémon Black 2 & White 2. Yesterday pictures of the latest CoroCoro magazine started to surface with details on the upcoming game. Today it seems that there is even more information within this issue.
Pictured here are some of the many new characters. Firstly we have the two new player characters. There is definitely a "bubblegum pop" influence in regards to the hair, and also a move away from revealing outfits for female characters. There are also two new gym leaders in the region now. Homika (ホミカ), who specializes in Poison, is the one with the guitar. Also, Shizui (シズイ) is a Water type trainer, who is the one in a swimsuit unsurprisingly. A brand new rival is available for players to battle against, identified as the spiky-haired one. Lastly in the new character line up is Akuroma (アクロマ), who is a pokémon researcher that studies "pokémon strength".
Next up are the many changes described in the article within CoroCoro. We now know that the game will take place in the Unova region, putting an end to the thought that this game would be set in Hoenn. Specifically it takes place 2 years after the events of Black & White, so there will most likely be links to that story arc. Part of the map of Unova is frozen, I believe this will have something to do with Black & White Kyurem. Players will start their journey in Hiougi City (ヒオウギシティ) which is a new area in Unova. Something different is that this city will have a Pokémon Center and a Trainer School, something that has not tried in a game before. Lastly there is to be an episode of the anime where Homika will be seen at their gym, which is a night club of sorts.
Even more, it seems that the Unova Pokédex now has 300 pokémon, and it will combine both old and new pokémon like other games have done before. Pokémon shown in here are Psyduck, Lucario and Metagross. Other pokémon are mentioned but not shown, these include ones like Tyranitar, Lapras & Arcanine. Black & White Kyurem are now confirmed to have the moves Ice Burn and Freeze Shock as per their speciality. Lastly, a promotion of Meloetta has been confirmed for the future with a to be announced date.
